C L O S E T S

OK.....so anyone who knows me knows that i have been designing my little tiny closets in my apartment for sometime now....i even went as far as buying  semi boyfriend power tools for Christmas just so he could build these closets for me.  Now there has been a little bit of progress made here but only bc i bought some drawers from home depot and forced him to put them together with me.  I have no room in my apt and am in dire need of a closet renovation in both closets.  My shoe collection is growing as is my clothes collection....AND ITS GETTING OUT OF HAND....I might just have to kidnap someone else and force them to build and build until it's finished....here is what exactly inspired me

rambling thoughts

This week for some reason i just feel little down in the dumps.  Not so sure why yet but i just do.  Is it bc I didn't really fulfill my plans for Mardi Gras?  Is it because I didn't make the money that I thought I would?  Is it bc I am realizing that maybe I am better off alone?  I have no clue.  I feel like it's all of this wrapped into one big ball of disappointment.   But this is life.  Sometimes you have good weeks and sometimes you have bad weeks.  I am excited that this week is ending though.  I am ready for a another fresh start.  What do I really have to be upset for. I have wonderful job, friends, family, shelter, food.  When you sit down and think about it......ITS NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL.....so just deal with it and get out of that funk.  Well that's all for now.

CHET CHAT

Rebuilding the city and community of New Orleans is a one step at a time process. Chet Chat is contributing to all aspects of the community in a big way. Each month non-profit organizations will be chosen to receive a one-room make over by Chet Pourciau and his design team.

There are so many facilities in our city that need our help in the rebuilding and renovation process of their buildings. Using only local stores and merchants, Chet Chat stimulates our local economy and gets the community involved. Each show the clients are interviewed about the space and asked what is needed to make it as useful as possible for that organization. As the process moves forward, the Chet Chat show uncovers the generosity of a community rallying up behind these organizations and many donations from local merchants are received. The experience and the journey each organization goes through are truly heartwarming and extraordinary.

Basing the team’s designs on the needs, functionality, and beauty of the space, Chet Chat unveils the beautiful transformation of the space at the end of each show. Rebuilding and believing in these vital organizations of New Orleans is what the Chet Chat show is all about.

graphic wall decor

Check out these intense wall graphics.  I think these would be good for a modern house.  Its like the new version of murals.  My mom once painted a mural in my room as a child.  It was of a wisteria tree.  I hated it at first but it really was amazing.  I was such a brat not appreciating such amazing art work that was right in my room for me to view everyday!!!  But now im saying THANKS MOM

INK

I am currently in a mood where I constantly want to create something beautiful and interesting.  I have been doodling lately with ink just making designs with lines...here is a little something that I am working on @ the moment:

ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE COLOR?

So many people these days are really scared of color!!  Now don't get me wrong.  I love neutrals, whites, grays, browns and blacks as much as the next girl but whatever happened to spontaneity.  Brightening up your home.  Though I agree with some designers,  rooms should flow in your home.  Try and stay with the architecture but that doesn't mean that all the colors have to be the same.  Try and paint a guest bedroom a vibrant color, or maybe a guest bathroom.  Emerald green.  This color works wonders with blacks, whites, and golds.  Check out some of the images below to get some inspiration
